His plan > my plan

Give me Father, a purpose deep,

In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;

Faithful and true what e’er the strife,

Pleasing Thee in my daily life;

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be,

if the lamp of my life has burned out for thee

-C.T. Studd

How often do we find ourselves thinking we know what’s best for us? (More likely than we would like to admit). It is merely impossible for us to understand his decisions and His ways. Everything comes from the Lord and exists by His power and is intended for His glory only. May this be my warning to you: Do not let pride enter your heart. Everything that you accomplished or own is only because of the Lord. He abhors pride. We have nothing to be boastful for in our own doings. When we humble ourselves by proclaiming His greatness, we put aside our pride and make space to learn from Him. When we declare that the Lord is sovereign above all things, we can easily see His glory and grace in our day to day lives. The more we realize that God is in control, the more readily we shift our trust in ourselves to God. This gives us a satisfaction and comfort that no other can give that is forever lasting. Nowadays, our satisfaction and security derives from temporary things such as: social media, outside appearances, and dating relationships. What happens when these things get ripped out from under us. Sometimes the Lord takes these things we put above Him out of our lives. It is easy to get caught up in life and push Him aside for later. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future.
